Warehouse Manager

A fantastic opportunity working for one of Ireland’s leading growers, packers and distributors of fresh produce. Meade Potato Company are looking for a highly experienced and qualified Warehouse Manager to join the team and hit the ground running. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for ensuring safe receipt, storage, and timely dispatch of goods to ensure all customer orders are delivered in a timely, cost effective manner. 

Key responsibilities of the warehouse manager include:


  • Supervise the warehouse team and the daily activities.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
  • Use mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
  • Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
  • Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
  • Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
  • Plan future capacity requirements, identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress, disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, adhering to policies and procedures
  • Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Ensure that all relevant health & safety policies and procedures are implemented and effectively communicated across their areas of responsibility




  • 5+ years Warehouse Management experience in the FMCG industry
  • Ability to respond positively to changing demands. 
  • Experience in LEAN would be advantageous
  • Excellent IT skills

Commercial Assistant


The role of the Commercial Assistant is to provide crucial administrative support to the Buying team to ensure that all data is recorded accurately. The Commercial Assistant will report trends on sales, monitor stock levels, manage all purchase orders, provide administrative support etc.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  •          Provide administrative support and assistance to the Buying team
  •          Monitor stock levels against sales projections
  •          Generate purchase/sales orders on a daily basis
  •          Sales analysis, promotion and market research
  •          Monitor and review weekly K.P.I’s for warehouse and distribution.
  •          Prepare & execute presentations for prospective clients
  •          Manage freight contracts to ensure continuity of supply
  •          Ensure Stock counts are performed and reconciled
  •          Ensure smooth and efficient operations at all times.
  •          Taking minutes of meetings
  •          Ad-hoc duties as dictated by Buyers and Management


Desired Skills and Experience

  •          Bachelor's ordinary / honours degree in Business/similar discipline
  •          Experience in a similar administrative/accounts role would be desirable
  •          Accuracy and attention to detail skills in relation to paperwork and financial reports
  •          Able to perform business maths, compute rate, ratio, etc.
  •          Demonstrate a high level of competency and confidence in using IT systems, including the Microsoft Office programs and capacity to learn new programs quickly.
  •          Experience in the FMCG sector would be desirable

Maintenance Fitter


Meade Potato Company are currently recruiting a Maintenance Fitter to join our expanding maintenance team. The role is suitable for a motivated individual who is capable of working with complex mechanical and electrical production lines in a fast paced environment.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  •          Carry out preventative, emergency and predictive maintenance of all equipment throughout the factory
  •          Liaise with and assist any 3rd party contractors in carrying out their duties on site.
  •          Troubleshoot with respect to repair of all equipment on the production floor, whilst ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum
  •          Maintain a high standard to Health & Safety during maintenance work.
  •          Complete all required documentation accurately.
  •          Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs within the factory


Qualifications/ Experience

  •          FAS mechanical diploma/ Trade certificate
  •          At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  •          Electrical experience would be an advantage
  •          Experience in pneumatics would be beneficial
  •          Knowledge of CMMS systems is desirable
  •          Previous experience with packaging equipment in an FMCG environment is highly desirable
  •          Full clean driving licence
  •          Flexibility in relation to working hours, the role will entail evenings/ weekend work.

HR Assistant


Meade Potato Company are currently recruiting for a HR Assistant. The challenging role will require a self-motivated, flexible individual who will play a significant role in the development of the Company for the future. Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will assist with all aspects of human resources management including recruitment, staff development, employee relations, employment law & HR administration.


Job Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent support to the HR manager for recruitment, training, personal files, administration, performance appraisal etc.
  •          Co-ordinate the Recruitment Process from developing job descriptions to preparing adverts, CV reviews, shortlisting, interviews and selection.
  •          Deal with employee queries on a daily basis.
  •          Manage, co-ordinate & conduct all necessary training with new employees and refresher training with existing employees
  •          Monitor and record all employee attendance, annual leave etc.
  •          Maintain confidentiality of information, written or spoken, with regards to all employee matters


Desired Skills and Experience

  •          Degree in Business studies or equivalent.
  •          Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in recruitment is essential
  •          Excellent computer skills, excel, word etc.
