Radish is so tantalisingly pretty with its pink-red outer shell and its perfectly white inside, that it gives quite a shock when you bite down and experience the almost spicy, zingy taste. It provides the perfect accompaniment to an otherwise boring salad, and is delicious sauteed with butter and salt.
ORIGIN: We leave our radish growing to our grower in Holland who knows exactly how much zing each mustard should have before it is harevested and sent on its way to us here in Ireland.
NUTRITION: Radishes are a good source of Vitamin C, poassium and folate.
TIPS: The harder the radish, the fresher it is, and the bigger the radish, the softer it tends to be.
