Process Technician 

 

Meade Potato Company, and award winning fresh produce company, has a fantastic opportunity for a graduate with a keen interest in the FMCG Sector to join our team. The Process Technician role will involve working within a production setting on a new project.

 

Job Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform initial troubleshooting of any issues and assist with investigations and operation deviations
  • Working with your team and the maintenance team, to root cause and problem solve issues
  • Ensure accuracy of data input to the machine
  • Effective analysis and elimination of recurring equipment problems
  • Complete and document activities from the machine following all cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice)
  • Process verification and quality checks
  • Ensure that all products are of the highest standard of quality at all times
  • Monitor safety and procedures within the setting and take any necessary actions required
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Optimise efficiencies by carefully planning schedules and communicating plans
  • Ad-hoc duties as directed by Management

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Excellent level of competency and confidence in using IT systems, including the Microsoft Office programs and capacity to learn new programs quickly
  • Graduates with a third level degree in a relevant area are preferred, but a degree is not necessary.
  • Experience using an ERP system, i.e. Prophet or similar would be an advantage
  • Strong reasoning and analytical skills
  • Experience in the FMCG sector is desirable

Junior Buyer

The Junior Buyer will work closely with the Buying team to build relations with new and existing suppliers, with the goal of expanding sales and market share. The role will involve introducing new suppliers to meet the current and future needs of the business, while ensuring continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality and delivery, along with considering new product/service introduction. This role would be a great opportunity for an enthusiastic graduate to start their career in the Fresh Produce industry.

 

Job Role & Responsibilities

  • Daily order placement/ purchasing from suppliers
  • Assisting buyers with sourcing of fresh produce
  • Building good relationships with new suppliers and maintaining current relationships with suppliers
  • Manage the supply of produce effectively in the short, medium and long term through effective buying, sourcing and supply chain management
  • Support Buyers in planning and trading of product lines
  • Monitor stock levels against sale projections
  • Sales analysis, promotion and marketing strategy
  • Reviewing competitor’s offerings and price positioning
  • Engage in regular competitor product and price checking
  • Liaising with suppliers on a daily basis

Accounts Assistant

We are looking for an experienced individual who can handle a range of responsibilities, who can respond to tight deadlines in a proficient, mature manner. The candidate will provide financial, administrative and clerical support to both accounts payable and receivable.

The successful Candidate will report to the office manager and management of Meade Potato Company on an ongoing basis.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Acounts Payable & Receivable

o   Processing delivery dockets

o   Issuing invoices, credits, statements

o   Dealing with account queries right through to debt collection

o   Following up with account issues, payments and credit notes.

o   Assist with invoicing for all customers including EDI files, contras etc.

o   Provide cover in all areas of the accounts receivable function

o   Processing invoices to the purchase ledger

o   Verifying invoices for prices, quantities, PO’s etc.

o   Dealing with account queries and liaising closely with the procurement team on invoice queries

o   Reconciling creditors accounts and statements

o   Scanning & filing of all invoices

o   Establish a strong relationship with our suppliers

o   Provide support to the accounts team

 

Admin Reporting /Analysing

o   Preparation of reports for office manager / management

o   Preparation of reports for suppliers /supplier analysis reports

o   Recording/ reporting on turnovers

o   Provide ad hoc reports to management

o   General office administration

Assistant Production Supervisor

 

Meade Potato Company has a fantastic Graduate opportunity in its award award-winning Fresh Produce Company. We are now recruiting a graduate with a keen interest in the FMCG industry with a flair for IT to join our production team. The Assistant Production Supervisor role will involve working alongside the Production Supervisor to effectively and efficiently run the warehouse on a daily basis.

 

Job Role & Responsibilities

  • Supervising employees, dealing with shipping and delivery procedures and making sure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Managing multiple priorities all production lines on a number of shifts. There is a high degree of in-the-moment decision-making that takes place under pressure that affects safety, quality and production.
  • Support the Production Supervisor, however possible, in reaching the departmental goals and targets.
  • Ensure that all products are of the highest standard of quality at all times and maintain customer and supplier specifications for all products.
  • Update the Prophet system on produce & stocks and reconcile daily
  • Review all jobs on the Prophet system for completion and accuracy
  • Monitor safety and procedures within the warehouse setting and take any necessary actions required
  • Drive continuous improvement and total employee engagement
  • Optimize efficiencies by carefully planning schedules and communicating plans to staff in a timely manner.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a production environment is essential
  • Experience using ERP Systems/Prophet is an advantage
  • An excellent knowledge of IT and computer systems
  • Previous experience in a supervisor’s role is required
  • Strong People and communication skills
  • An excellent attitude when dealing with any problems, staff and anything that may arise on the production floor

Horticultural Technician

Due to continued expansion Meade Potato Company are currently recruiting a Horticultural Technician to expand our growing team. The successful candidate will specialise in the propagation and production of vegetables and fruit plants. Meade Potato Company require an experienced grower who has a passion for Horticulture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop crops to a high standard, using specialist horticultural skills.
  • Focus and inspect crops and analyse horticultural yields to ensure the highest standard of crop.
  • Design planting layouts, taking into consideration a range of factors including climate, soil type and functionality etc.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of plant hygiene, weed control and cleanliness.
  • Manage the workload by planning and prioritising effectively
  • Motivate and manage a small team to ensure targets are met/exceeded.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of health and safety practices and legislation.
  • Conduct on-going maintenance such as weeding, mulching, plant division and pruning to ensure the quality of the crop is maintained.
  • Maintaining administrative records.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Professional qualification in horticulture
  • Minimum of 3 years Industry experience is essential

Forklift/Pallet Truck Operator

 

The role requires the Forklift/Pallet Truck operator to effectively and efficiently perform their daily tasks to the highest level of hygiene, food safety and health and safety standards, meeting all targets and reporting all issues. The role will report directly to the warehouse manager/ supervisor and will involve the employee being an integral part of the team, working together and meeting production plans.

Key roles & responsibilities

  •          Loading/unloading of produce using forklifts/ pallet trucks, picking orders and counting/ signing paperwork will be required.
  •          Maintaining and recording of Goods Inwards
  •          Ensuring an excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail is provided when picking customer orders.
  •          Take part in all training provided, when requested–Manual Handling Training, Forklift/ pallet truck training, etc.
  •          Ability to take instruction but also ability to work on own initiative
  •          Other ad hoc duties as requested or directed by management

 

Key behaviours/ Competencies

  •          Minimum of 2 years forklift/ pallet truck experience
  •          Experience in loading racking/ pallet trucks and Goods Inwards would be an advantage
  •          Experience in use of Prophet would be an advantage

Industrial Cleaner

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our friendly team as an industrial cleaner working in a food packhouse environment. To maintain the cleanliness of all designated areas as directed using appropriate equipment and/or materials as supplied.

Primary Responsibilities

  •          Deep Cleaning, washing walls, cleaning of production machinery as required. To keep to a high audit standard at all times
  •          Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness within assigned areas by ensuring that the relevant work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed.
  •          To ensure accurate completion of area logbooks as required by SOPs.
  •          Ensure regular checks of the equipment and machines used during the working day. 
  •          Participate in the Health and Safety Policy of the Company and report any dangers or hazards to management.
  •          Carry out any duties as required by the management.
  •          All employees are required to, and are responsible for adhering to Quality, Compliance and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations applicable to their role. Training
    will be provided to ensure that the procedures are understood.
  •          Prepared to work to strict timelines.

FOOD PRODUCTION OPERATIVE

 

Meade Potato Company is currently seeking Food Production Operatives to start with immediate effect. Reporting to the Team Leader and / or Warehouse Manager, this role requires the Warehouse Operative to effectively and efficiently perform their daily work tasks to the highest level of hygiene, food safety and health and safety standards, meeting all targets and reporting all issues.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  •          Duties will include some or all of the following duties-grading produce, box building, hand packing, order picking, labelling and assembly- high attention to detail is required at all levels of this production process.
  •          Quality inspection of fresh produce is required- picking bruised foods, mixing batches, weighing ingredients, the running and monitoring of machines and the general housekeeping of the production line.
  •          Loading/unloading of produce, picking orders, wrapping pallets and checking paperwork can also be required.
  •          Take instruction on work to be completed from your respective line leader / warehouse manager accordingly
  •          Be flexible and willing to join different production lines – as requested
  •          Fulfilling customer orders to the highest standards.
  •          Ensuring an excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail is provided when picking customer orders

  •          Ability to work overtime/ weekends and at short notice
  •          Hard working, motivated, flexible & ability to work well under pressure
  •          Experience preferable in food industry
