Meade Potato Company is one of the country’s largest growers, packers and distributors of fresh produce to the retail market.  We are situated in Lobinstown, Navan, Co. Meath and currently employ approx. 240 staff directly and over 300 indirectly. Meade Potato Co. offers over 100 different lines of produce of the highest quality in freshness, appearance and taste, delivered by a supply chain that prides itself on its efficiency.

 

Quality Assurance Technician

The role of the Quality Assurance Technician is to work closely with the Quality Manager in maintaining Quality Control / HACCP procedures on a daily basis, testing and examining all produce to ensure the highest standard of quality is achieved for all customers.

Key Duties & responsibilities

  •          Carrying out quality inspections on produce at intake, repack and finished product stage.
  •          Completion of daily record keeping E.g. intake and dispatch checks  etc. Sending Quality reports to Suppliers, reviewing raw material quality on a continuous basis and communicating any quality issues to production/ purchasing departments.
  •          Ensuring HACCP principles are continuously met for product safety and process control.
  •          Ensuring BRC and TFMS (Tesco) requirements are maintained as set down in the relevant standard and ensuring traceability is maintained for all lines.
  •          Ensuring and cross checking traceability for each delivery and contact all suppliers to obtain traceability in advance
  •          Assist in carrying out internal audits on a routine basis/ ensuring that the factory is compliant with all health & safety/ quality regulations
  •           

Qualifications/ experience

  •          Degree in Food Science or similar
  •          Minimum of 2 + years’ experience in the Agri-Food sector is desirable
  •          BRC / IFS Food Safety Certification, HACCP, Bord Bia, Food Service and Retailer Codes of Practices and food manufacturing is essential.

Part Time Lorry Driver

 

Meade Potato Company are recruiting a part-time rigid lorry driver for the collection and delivery of fresh produce.

 

  •          C licence, digital driving card and CPC card are essential.
  •          Previous experience is required.
  •          Fixed term contract, 20 hours per week.
  •          Must be flexible regarding working hours as weekend work may be required.

Maintenance Fitter

 

Meade Potato Company are currently recruiting a Maintenance Fitter to join our expanding maintenance team. The role is suitable for a motivated individual who is capable of working with complex mechanical and electrical production lines in a fast paced environment.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  •          Carry out preventative, emergency and predictive maintenance of all equipment throughout the factory
  •          Liaise with and assist any 3rd party contractors in carrying out their duties on site.
  •          Troubleshoot with respect to repair of all equipment on the production floor, whilst ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum
  •          Maintain a high standard to Health & Safety during maintenance work.
  •          Complete all required documentation accurately.
  •          Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs within the factory

 

Qualifications/ Experience

  •          FAS mechanical diploma/ Trade certificate
  •          At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  •          Electrical experience would be an advantage
  •          Experience in pneumatics would be beneficial
  •          Knowledge of CMMS systems is desirable
  •          Previous experience with packaging equipment in an FMCG environment is highly desirable
  •          Full clean driving licence
  •          Flexibility in relation to working hours, the role will entail evenings/ weekend work.
