Dieters everywhere have mistakenly embraced celery as being the one thing you can eat and actually LOSE weight. the myth that it takes more calories to chew and digest celery than is present in the food itself, is just that. But nonetheless, celery is a great weight loss device for the nutritional fibre it provides.
ORIGIN: Our celery comes predominantly from Ireland, except in the off season from January to June when we turn to Spain to top up our supplies.
NUTRITION: Like lettuce, celery is made up of a lot of water and this affects its nutritional content. It would not be a nutrtional powerhouse but does provide trace amounts of many vitmains, as well as a fair amount of dietary fibre.
TIP: If you are a fan of peanut butter, there can be no better cruchy/smooth sensation than a dollop of peanut butter nestled on a celery scoop.
